CALL SHEET

Shooting day no. 1                 Date – 22nd October 2014

SCENE(S):

  • Door of a dark, creepy shed slamming with trees in the background of the shot to show location of the killer's main 'den' or 'lair'.
  • Establishing panning shot of the shed and the rest of the woodland area.
LOCATION:

  • Nan's old shed, Hitchin.
CAST:

  • N/A
DIRECTED & SHOT BY: Megan Byford

STORYBOARD NUMBER(S)

  • Slamming door - Shot 4
  • Establishing shot not shown on storyboard, but will be included in actual film.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Camera
  • Camera's Microphone
This day went well, I got the shots I wanted for the shed's creepy look, the noise the shed made was dramatic and that will sound good on the final film. I wanted a loud noise because that might make the audience jump or be frightened as this is accurate for a horror movie.

LOGO IDEAS

I like these designs because they're all a design that can be applied to any film and looks professional. The red, however, does match the colours of blood, which is the same for the most of these designs. I chose this colour as is more appropriate to the theme of the film opening. My favourite is the last one so it is more probable I will use a design like that in my opening.

THE NUMBER 23 OPENING TITLE SEQUENCE ANALYSIS

0:00 - 0:10

The title sequence immediately begins, with the title at the beginning. It is surrounded by the numbers 2 and 3, and the main title is in red, which slowly fades into something that resembles a blood splatter or a red ink blot.

0:10 - 1:09

Actors names start to appear in between the numbers 2 and 3, the red blood/ink splatters remain on the screen on a background of something that looks like old style paper.

1:10 - 1:50

Other credits start to appear, such as the music by, casting by and directed by. Each change of credit is done by a disfigured page, as if to make the audience look at it and be dizzied by it.

The music throughout the title sequence is in a low tone and has some irregular beats and instrument noises which can give the impression of a bad mood or an unnatural tone. It's quite fast paced and get's faster throughout, as if whatever is about to happen is getting closer and closer, which can make the audience feel uncomfortable.

Throughout the whole sequence, facts that relate to the number 23 are put in the middle of the credits, they are not directly related to the plot but shows even more, the relevance of that number it the film. None of the facts are positive which shows the darkness of the film and the number. Also, because they are true facts, that can also make the audience more uncomfortable as it relates to something realistic, making things even more scary.
